New Feature: Edit Transaction Dates & Names
For those of you that have been using Spend for a little while, you may have noticed that:
- Sometimes your recurring income for the prior month is over/under-reported, which throws off your allowance.
- It’s often hard to identify transactions given the merchant’s description
We just launched a new feature to eliminate these problems and to make Spend more useful on a regular basis: you can now edit a transaction’s name and date!
Simply tap or click on a transaction, edit the name or date, and click “Update.” If you make a mistake, you can easily “Revert” back to the way it was. Your changes persist, even if you edit a pending transaction.
I recently bought “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” through Audible on my iPhone. Apple charged my card as apple.com/bill internet charge
for $29.99. I searched my email for “apple 29.99,” confirmed the charge, tapped on the Spend transaction, and updated the name so I could easily identify the charge in the future.
In another situation, my paycheck may have just fallen outside of the Spend’s definition of the “last month.” As a result, this week my allowance is lower than I expect. Using the same feature, I can tap on the transaction, edit the date to move forward a few days and in a few moments, voilà, my allowance is adjusted.
